solo exhibition in Colonie

The William K. Sanford Gallery at the Colonie Town Library will host an exhibit of paintings by Schoharie artist Elizabeth Apgar-Smith from Nov. 2-29, with a "meet the artist" reception to be held on Sunday, Nov. 13th.  The exhibit will feature paintings rescued from the artist's gallery just prior to Hurrican Irene, including many from her Faithful Labors series, a touring exhibition celebrating her region's small family farms. 

The display is available for viewing during regular library hours, except while programs are in progress.  Please call to verify room availability (518-458-9274).  Open M-Th, 9AM-9PM; Fri., 9AM-6PM; Sat., 9AM-5PM; Sun, noon-5PM.

 

Upstate New York artist Elizabeth Apgar-Smith works in oil, pastel and watercolor. She has won numerous regional and national awards, been profiled in both American Artist and The Artists Magazine, and seen her work featured in six different books on technique.

The historical upstate NY village of Schoharie is home to both Elizabeth's studio and gallery. Her touring, evolving exhibit called Faithful Labors, a tribute to life on regional family farms, has been featured at Wellington's Herb and Spice Farm in Schoharie, The Bennington Center for the arts in Vermont, The Rensselaerville Institute, the Old Forge Arts Center, and The Smithy-Pioneer Gallery in Cooperstown.
